Celebrities and authorities celebrated a historic night in the winery where the first Spanish brandy was born 150 years ago
The awardees of the 30th edition, the guitarist and composer Paco Cepero; the bullfighter Juan José Padilla; the designer Inés Domecq (IQ), the journalist Toñi Moreno and the footballer Joaquín Sánchez, left their signature on the barrels of the winery

Fundador hosted the “Flamenco in The Skin” awards. Prestigious awards given by the International Week of Flamenco Fashion (SIMOF 2025) Link. And this year they have fallen on renowned gaditanos such as the guitarist and composer Paco Cepero; the bullfighter Juan José Padilla; the designer Inés Domecq from IQ, the journalist Toñi Morenoand the footballer Joaquín Sánchez.
It was a gala full of emotion. A special night in which there was much to celebrate. On the one hand, the ten years of the “Flamenco in the Skin” awards that have been given since 2014 within the framework of the International Week of Flamenco Fashion (SIMOF), an event that in 2025 will celebrate 30 editions.
For Brandy Fundador, (1874 – 2024), the delivery and sponsorship of the awards, has been one of the major closing events of this exciting year, dedicated to commemorating the 150th anniversary of the birth of the first Spanish brandy. Organizers and awardees expressed during their interventions their gratitude for receiving the prestigious award in an unparalleled setting both for its beauty and for the legacy and history hidden in the oldest wineries in the Jerez region.
A true symbol of Andalusia
“Receiving in our house all this cast of representatives of the flamenco world is the icing on a year full of celebrations dedicated to celebrating the 150th anniversary of a brandy that was born in this winery and that like flamenco is a symbol of Andalusia. This party is a golden brooch that is already part of our history” stated the host Ángel Piña, Global Chief Commercial & Marketing Officer of Fundador, who showed the guests the El Molino winery, prior to the gala. During the tour, as is customary, the awardees left their signature as a memento on one of the “Sherry Cask” barrels in the winery, a centuries-old tradition for distinguished visitors.
A committed city
Raquel Revuelta, CEO of the Fashion and Communication Agency Doble Erre, co-organizer of SIMOF along with the Seville Exhibition and Congress Palace FIBES, highlighted the importance of this event and of these three decades supporting the Andalusian fashion industry and flamenco, thanked Fundador for sponsoring SIMOF. Words that were confirmed by the mayor of Jerez, María José García Pelayo, who closed the ceremony applauding the initiative of the organizers to bring these awards to Jerez, a city committed to culture and flamenco art.
There were many familiar faces who did not want to miss such a special event. Among the attendees were also Agustín Muñoz, first deputy mayor; Manuela García, delegate of Employment of the Junta de Andalucía; Angie Moreno, delegate of Tourism and Culture of the Seville City Council; Juanjo Domínguez, general director of Tourism of the Seville City Council: Antonio Castaño, managing director of Contursa and Rafael Olvera Porcel, director of the Royal Andalusian School of Equestrian Art.
Also, the bullfighter Fran Rivera; the dancer Antonio Canales, the singer Laura Gallego; the actress and presenter Lucía Hoyos; the television collaborator and influencer Gloria Camila; the presenter and actress Belinda Washington, the journalist Paco Lobatón and the Jerez artist Cristian Donaire. And more personalities from Jerez and Seville society, SIMOF sponsors and designers. All of them, posed on the photocall and let themselves be carried away by the good atmosphere and the precious decoration with Christmas winks.
During the award ceremony, led by the journalist Salomón Hachuel, The honorees, exultant and visibly moved, expressed their excitement for the recognition. And they took as a souvenir a sculpture created by the architect and graphic designer Juanjo Montoya Link that represents the characteristic symbol of SIMOF, a red carnation, handcrafted in leather on a metal base and a bottle of Fundador Supremo 18.
New brandy cocktails
After the delivery, a cocktail paired with brandy and wines from the winery itself took place, in which the new proposals of the brand were tasted: Índigo, a cocktail made with Fundador Doble Madera, Ginger Beer and lime. And Palomo, a cocktail with Fundador Supremo 12, grapefruit soda and garnished with a slice of pink grapefruit.
The evening ended with the joy of the now traditional Christmas zambomba, performed by Macarena de Jerez, who spread her art and encouraged the attendees to clap and dance celebrating a day full of joy and emotions in which everyone enjoyed in a relaxed and familiar atmosphere.
