Jerez, September 13, 2024
Bodegas Fundador has been one of the companies awarded by the Provincial Tourism Board of the Provincial Council of Cádiz for its contribution to tourism and the promotion of Cádiz in a very special year in which the 150th anniversary of the first Spanish Brandy is celebrated. The award is part of the prizes that are given every year on the occasion of World Tourism Day.
The fourth vice-president of the Provincial Council of Cádiz and head of the Tourism Board, Germán Beardo, has highlighted that wine and the wineries of Jerez have become, for centuries, a tourist attraction for the province at an international level. And he has congratulated the managers of the winery for the work done to give visibility to brandy with a set of projects launched throughout the year. Among them the new commemorative museum, a journey through time from 1874 to the present, passing through unique moments in the history of the brand such as the Don Pedrito campaigns, the surprise records or the iconic advertisements and melodies that made it so popular in the 60s and 70s. Or the illustrious visits received and who have left their signature on the boots.
The award has been received with pride at the winery. “It is an honor for us to receive this award that recognizes the work we are doing to make one of the oldest brands in our country known. Brandy Fundador, a legend with years of work behind it” declared an excited Ángel Piña, Global Chief Commercial & Marketing Officer of Grupo Emperador in Spain, the group that owns the brand and the wineries since 2015.
“It is a fantastic gift in a year like this in which we want to remember the past and at the same time reflect on the future with different activities that have taken place in the winery” added Piña. The Fundador facilities have been this year the venue for congresses and meetings, thematic tours, tastings and tastings, contests or launches of commemorative products that have attracted people from all corners of the world.
In addition to Bodegas Fundador, the Band of Bugles and Drums of Rosario de Cádiz and the music festivals of the province have also been awarded for their promotional work.
The award ceremony will take place on the 26th, in a gala prior to World Tourism Day, which will be held at the Monastery of La Victoria in El Puerto de Santa María, presented by actress Belén López.
