After its launch at the Maga de Magas event, Fundador incorporates its cocktail into reading workshops, a new proposal to enjoy brandy.

Fundador takes a step further with its cocktail Magas by Fundador, a creation in collaboration with Magas, the women’s magazine of the newspaper El Español. After its official presentation at the Maga de Magas event, the cocktail now arrives at reading workshops: meetings where attendees read, comment, chat, and learn with a book in their hands… and a cocktail as a companion.

The first workshop with a cocktail, held at the DOBBLE Technology Space in Madrid, was led by the writer Espido Freire. Winner of the Planeta Prize and author of works such as Frozen Peaches, Freire is also a promoter of shared reading as a connection tool. She demonstrated this during the session, which was attended by more than 30 women passionate about literature and in which the author took the opportunity to present her latest release: Two Afternoons with Jane Austen (Alianza Editorial, 2025).

The main ingredient of the Magas by Fundador cocktail is Fundador Doble Madera, a brandy Solera Reserva aged with double maturation in barrels that have previously contained Amontillado and Oloroso wines, the famous Sherry Casks. Its combination with fresh lime and pink grapefruit soda provides a fresh and aromatic taste. Perfect for consumption in inspiring moments like reading workshops.

For Ángel Piña, Chief Commercial and Marketing Officer of Grupo Emperador Spain and advisor to Pedro Domecq, Magas by Fundador is an ideal proposal for quiet moments: “The mix of brandy with the citrus touch of lime provides freshness and balance, and the blue salt and the service in a tall glass enhances its aesthetics by providing a vintage air. Like good books, it’s a cocktail that goes down easily and is remembered forever.”

Cocktail recipe Magas by Fundador

  • 5 cl of Brandy Fundador Doble Madera
  • 1.5 cl of lime juice
  • Grapefruit soda
  • Half a “rim” of blue salt (on the edge of the glass)
  • Half a slice of pink grapefruit for decoration
  • It is served in a tall glass with ice.
