The origin of our brand dates back to 1730 with the founding of Bodegas Fundador, the oldest winery in the Jerez region.

Domecq

Its origins are tied to the Domecq family, a French lineage that pioneered the wine industry. The most significant figure, Pedro Domecq Loustau, created Fundador, the first Spanish brandy, in 1874.

Alfonso XIII

The family’s relationship with the Spanish Royalty has left its mark on the winery through the signatures of H.M. King Ferdinand VII, H.M. King Alfonso XIII, H.M. Queen Victoria Eugenia, and Don Juan de Borbón.

The history of brandy in the world cannot be understood without the history of Fundador.

It was at the Bodega de la Luz where the first brandy produced in Spain was born, hence its name: Fundador.

Since its beginnings, Fundador has been a benchmark brand for Brandy de Jerez in Spain. Its quality has always made it stand out from other beverages.

We take care of our production process from start to finish: from selecting the land and planting to bottling. Only in this way do we achieve products of the highest quality.

The best conditions result in Palomino and Pedro Ximénez grapes, perfect for producing the four types of Sherry wine: Fino, Amontillado, Oloroso, and Pedro Ximénez.

Traditonial

In our own distillery, we have 100% control over the distillation process of holandas and spirits, which will later age using the Criaderas and Soleras system unique to the Jerez region. A true art perfected throughout our history.

Guided by our Master Blender, we have restored the category to its rightful prominence, creating a new collection that elevates brandy to its highest expression through ageing: the Sherry Cask collection.
