Madrid, November 26, 2024
Bodegas Fundador has signed its adherence to the Diversity Charter. An initiative of the Foundation for Diversity with the European Commission as a driving force born to give visibility to the commitment of Spanish companies to diversity and social inclusion.
Ángel Piña, Global Chief Commercial & Marketing Officer of the Emperador group, officially supported the wineries based in Jerez at an event held in Madrid on the occasion of the 15th Anniversary gala and the X Awards of the Diversity Foundation.
Piña signed the letter of the Diversity Foundation that directs Teresa Viejo along with twelve other business leaders who also formalized their adherence. Companies with whom Fundador shares the respect for values promoted by the document. And the commitment to dissemination as an example to follow, one of the keys to success as Teresa Viejo explained, thanking the “brave attitude” of the new signatories. We have made significant advances that change people’s lives. Companies are implementing plans, protocols, and training and awareness actions to promote an inclusive culture,” Viejo added.
Certified commitment
“For Bodegas Fundador, adhering to this charter in the year in which we celebrate the 150th anniversary of the birth of the first Spanish brandy means taking another step in the corporate strategy of promoting respect for diversity, equal opportunities, and labor inclusion in all companies,” Piña commented after the signing.
Commitment also certified with the recently renewed international seal SR10 granted by the world-leading network IQNet, whose Spanish member is AENOR. And it certifies that Bodegas Fundador has successfully passed the audit that confirms a comprehensive management model aligned with the international standard in terms of Corporate Social Responsibility and Economic and Environmental Sustainability.
With these steps, Bodegas Fundador, owned by Emperador Distillers, part of the Filipino Tan family’s holding company, a world leader in the Brandy market and one of the largest manufacturers of spirits and liqueurs, seeks to establish a corporate culture based on respect for individual differences. And generate synergies with other companies and organizations that share and promote these same values. This was expressed by Ángel Piña during the event, convinced that this positive attitude and collaborative approach is essential for the group’s progress and at the same time “enriching for the entire human team of the Emperador Spain group.”
After the signing of the new companies adhering to the charter, the gala for the 15th anniversary of the Diversity Foundation and the X delivery of awards to pioneering companies, entities and institutions of diversity, equity and inclusion (DE&I) values throughout 2024 began. After the awards, another group of companies signed the renewal of the charter.
Ana Redondo, Minister of Equality, closed the gala thanking the participants for their commitment to ensuring that support for Diversity extends to all areas.
Índigo Cocktail
Fundador livened up the subsequent cocktail by offering attendees a tasting of Índigo, a cocktail made with Fundador Doble Madera, Ginger Beer and lime, one of the brand’s new proposals.
