As part of its 150th anniversary, Fundador, the first brandy of Spain, will host a unique gastronomic event that will merge the best of Galician and Andalusian cuisines. Next October 28, the Fundador Wineries will open their doors to Xuntos Saborea Galicia, a prominent culinary meeting that, for the first time, travels to the south of the country, offering a unique sensory experience that will unite the traditions of the north with the gastronomic richness of Andalusia.
Aimed at hospitality professionals, this event will allow to discover gourmet products from both regions, paired with the exceptional brandies of Fundador and the wines of Harvey’s, along with the wines of Pazo de Rubianes. The event is part of the special activities that the winery has organized to celebrate its century and a half of history.
Galicia and Andalusia meet in Jerez
During this day, attendees will have the opportunity to taste a unique combination of Galician and Andalusian products. Discarlux, Airas Moniz, Pazo de Rubianes and Los Peperetes will bring the best of Galicia, while the iconic brandies of Fundador and the wines of Harvey’s, along with local Andalusian delicacies, will offer a complete gastronomic experience. In the historic courtyard of the Sacred Heart of the Fundador Wineries, the atmosphere will be a true fair of flavors that will celebrate the culinary richness of both regions.
Workshops, showcooking and innovative pairings
In addition to enjoying the exquisite gastronomy, attendees will be able to participate in training workshops designed for the hospitality industry. From a Fundador brandy workshop where it will be shown to those interested different proposals with this wine distillate as the protagonist, up to seeing live and step by step the detailed disassembly of a loin of meat that will be given by the experts of the meat company Discarlux, among others.
Exclusive visits to the oldest winery in Jerez and its 150th Anniversary commemorative museum
In addition to enjoying Galician cuisine and pairings with the brandies and wines of Bodegas Fundador, attendees will have the opportunity to take guided tours of the oldest winery in the Marco de Jerez. During the tour, they will be able to learn about the recently inaugurated commemorative museum of the Fundador brand, which was inaugurated by Juan Manuel Moreno, president of the Junta de Andalucía. This space pays tribute to the 150 years of history of the brand, offering a dive into its legacy and tradition.
Galician queimada and live music
Galician traditions will also merge with the aroma and flavor of centuries-old liquids from the Fundador wineries in Jerez with original activities such as a brandy queimada. A local adaptation, which attendees will also enjoy. A reinterpretation of the traditional Galician drink, made with brandy, sugar and coffee beans. This ceremony will include the reading of the Galician magic spell, which is said to ward off evil spirits, and which will be served hot. All this will be accompanied by flamenco music, completing a day that celebrates the best of both cultures, designed to offer a complete experience.
Collaborating brands and support for gastronomy
In addition to the protagonists of Xuntos Saborea Galicia, the event will feature collaborating brands such as Bacalao el Barquero, Carrasco Embutidos, Petaca Chico and Jupe, Andalusian distributor of Discarlux, who will also contribute their products to delight the attendees.

This event is part of the strategy of Fundador to continue expanding its brand nationally, joining forces with key markets such as Galicia and promoting tourism in its wineries.
