Bodegas Fundador, the oldest house in Jerez and one of the most prestigious in the production of high-quality brandies and wines, had a prominent presence at ProWein, the most important event in the sector in Europe. This international fair, which took place from March 16 to 18 in Düsseldorf, brought together the main wine and spirits producers in the world. In its previous edition, ProWein attracted more than 45,000 professional visitors from 135 countries and had more than 5,300 exhibitors.
Tastings and Workshops at ProWein
For the first time, Fundador had its own stand in Hall 5, stand K43. Attendees were able to discover the extensive portfolio of products from the oldest winery in Jerez, with more than 300 years of history. This tradition and excellence are part of the legacy of Emperador Distillers, a group recognized worldwide for the production of premium brandy and owned by Filipino businessman Andrew Tan.
During the three days of the fair, the Fundador team presented its products to buyers from different channels, including large distribution chains, specialized wholesalers and importers. In addition, there were guided tastings by Alberto Pizarro, Trade Ambassador of Fundador, where the versatility of brandy in hospitality was demonstrated. Distilled in Sherry Cask wine barrels, this brandy acquired unique nuances that make it stand out in the sector.
Fundador Supremo Range
Particular emphasis was placed on the Fundador Supremo Range, whose brandies are heirs to the most exclusive and aged wines of the winery. Aged in American oak barrels previously used for Harveys’ VORS (Very Old Rare Sherry), these brandies obtained extraordinary aromas and flavors that make them true gems of distillation.
Fundador: A Legendary Brand
Ángel Piña, Global Chief Commercial & Marketing Officer of Grupo Emperador in Spain, considered this fair a unique opportunity to showcase the excellence of a legendary brand like Fundador and reinforce its positioning in Europe. “We want to strengthen the internationalization of our wines and brandies with a growth plan based on conquering palates through a quality product, full of tradition and made in a natural and surprising way in every sense,” he affirmed.
The history of Bodegas Fundador dates back to 1730, and since then it has been a prominent leader in the Marco de Jerez. In 1874, Pedro Domecq Lustau created Fundador, the first Spanish brandy, which has already turned 150 years old and has received numerous international awards, including the Brandy Fundador Supremo 18, recognized as the Best Brandy in the World 2024 by the China Wine & Spirits Awards (CWSA). In addition to its namesake brandy, Fundador owns iconic brands such as Terry and a wide range of Sherry wines under the Harveys brand, with Harveys Bristol Cream standing out as the best-selling Sherry wine in the world.
