Fundador achieves Platinum at Decanter 2025 with its Harveys Vors Palo Cortado, the highest award at the most relevant wine competition in the world

The recognition adds to a historic season of awards for the oldest winery in the Marco de Jerez.

The Harveys VORS Palo Cortado, produced in Bodegas Fundador, has been distinguished with the Platinum medal at the Decanter World Wine Awards 2025, the highest award granted by this prestigious competition. The contest, considered the most influential in the sector by volume and diversity of participants, has this year included 18,500 wines from 57 countries, evaluated for almost fifteen days by a jury composed of 248 international experts. The result obtained places Fundador in the world elite of generous wine.

The success in Decanter is completed with other two gold medals for Harveys VORS Pedro Ximénez and Oloroso. A total of three maximum distinctions for the VORS range, (Very Old Rare Sherry) of Harveys, wines with more than thirty years of certified aging. Emblems of a winery whose liquids shine among the great wines of the world for their quality, their legacy and tradition, qualities that always seduce the most demanding tasters.

These latest awards add to others obtained in recent months and close a particularly brilliant season for Fundador.

In the last International Wine & Spirit Competition (IWSC) 2025, Harveys VORS also obtained also three gold medals with 95 points for its Palo Cortado, Oloroso and Pedro Ximénez references. Shortly after, the legendary Harveys Bristol Cream was chosen as Best Sherry of the World and Best Cream of the World at the World Drinks Awards (WDA) held in London, reaffirming its international leadership as a reference wine for more than 140 years.

The excellence of the brandies from Bodegas Fundador has also shone as a reference in the world of spirits with various awards.

At the San Francisco World Spirits Competition (SFWSC) 2025, the brandy Fundador Brandy Triple Madera Sherry Cask was awarded with a gold medal and 93 points. In this same competition, the Fundador Supremo 18 YO Oloroso Sherry Cask and the Terry Centenario 40 were also recognized with golds, both with 91 points.

Fundador, founded in 1874 and with 150 years already completed, is the first brandy brand from Jerez and is produced in the oldest winery in Marco, active since 1730. Its ability to keep traditional techniques alive, such as aging in sherry casks (oak barrels that have previously contained generous wines), and at the same time innovate in design, product and markets, has allowed it to position itself as one of the most awarded wineries today.
