In order to celebrate the centenary of Brandy Fundador, this bodega was built in 1974 and named "La Gran Bodega". But once completed, it became inevitable to call it "La Mezquita" due to its appearance, composed of numerous arches and impressive dimensions.

Today, it is considered one of the largest bodegas in the world, measuring approximately 25,500m2, an area similar to four football pitches.

La Mezquita is part of the group of bodegas called "cathedral" in the Marco de Jerez. They owe their name to their large size and unique characteristics.

These "cathedral" bodegas have high ceilings and long corridors to ensure cross ventilation and controlled light, while maintaining optimum darkness for the care of the sherry casks and the liquids they contain.

In our bodegas we elaborate the best sherry wines, over 100 years old, which are aged in our most special sherry casks, certified by the Consejo Regulador of Marco de Jerez.

Our collection contains more than 40,000 casks stored in the bodega, one of the largest in the world.

The fact that we have so many casks in the bodega is no coincidence, as this is also where Harveys Bristol Cream sherry wine is aged, the undisputed market leader elaborated from the four types of sherry: Fino, Amontillado, Oloroso and Pedro Ximénez, which makes it necessary to have this large number of sherry casks to be able to supply the world demand. Casks that will age our best brandies in the future.
